TODAY'S SPECIAL: Campbell's New England Clam Chowder

Ingredients:

Potassium chloride. A white crystal or crystalline powder used in fertilizers and explosives.

Torula yeast. Torulopsis utilis, also called fodder yeast, belongs to the genus Candida which is grown specifically for animal feed. It is cultivated predominantly on a waste liquor from the production of pulp for paper manufacture. It can be grown also on other organic wastes.

Disodium inosinate. A flavor enhancer used instead of more expensive natural ingredients. Often used together with monosodium glutamate (MSG).

Sodium phosphate. It is used to evacuate the bowels to eliminate ingested toxins or to prepare for colonoscopy. Chronic exposures can result in inflammatory or ulcerative changes in the mouth and possible gastrointestinal disorders.

Dextrin. In rats dextrin enhances the number of preneoplastic lesions in the colon.

 


Gingivitis has been implicated in many health problems, icluding heart disease. Treatment is available, but prevention is the key.
